Through the month of June, we will continue our collection of bath size bars of soap for Lutheran World Relief. Monetary donations can be given to: Sherry, Anita, Jane, Rhonda or Mary Lou.

We will also begin our collection of monetary gifts for Wernle Home between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Please look for the “Wernle house” to make your donation.

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Personal Care Kits (formerly Health Kits) 

During the months of January through March, we collect items for the Personal Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief. Each kit is to contain:  One light-weight bath-sized towel (between 20” X 40” & 52” x 27”, dark color recommended –  bath-size bar (4 to 5 oz.) of soap, any brand, in its original wrapping (2 per kit) –  One adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging –   One sturdy comb, remove packaging – Metal nail clippers (file optional)

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) School Kits

During the months of July thru September, we collect items for the Lutherwan World Relief (LWR) School Kits.  Items needed for School kits:  70 sheet notebooks of wide or college ruled paper – approximately 8″ x 10 1⁄2″ (4 per kit) – One blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well) – One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other – One pencil sharpener -Five new, unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers – One eraser approximately 2 1⁄2″ long – Five Black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink) – One box of 16 or 24 crayons – One sturdy drawstring backpack cloth bag 14” x 17” With shoulder straps

Prayer Quilts & LWR Quilts

Items needed for LWR and Prayer Quilts:    Financial donations for fabric, batting, labels, etc -Gently used fabric, men’s t-shirts, and flannel shirts or sheets – Twin sized blankets




Because you cared in 2015……… 54 personal care kits, 715 bars of soap, 96 school kits, and 20 quilts have been assembled, boxed, labeled and are ready for shipment to help those in need. Thank you to Sherry Marten for another fabulous year as our Super Shopper and to everyone for your generous support. Pastor Travis Qualls told us on Sunday, August 16 that we should go and do as a people, as a church, as a community — that is most certainly true here!
